Improved Radegund Road Roundabout will make travel safer for Coleridge Residents
The new “Dutch style” roundabout at the Radegund Road and Perne Road junction has now been opened.
A majority of residents responded to the consultation stating clearly they wanted the improvements to the roundabout to go ahead. There have been 16 reported accidents at this spot over the last five years and it is a major route to school for students.
The improvements to this busy roundabout will make it safer for all road users: pedestrians, cyclists and motorists and particularly the many schoolchildren who make their way to and from the local secondary and primary schools in the area: including Coleridge Community College, St Bede’s and Ridgefield Primary school. When the shops at the roundabout are also redeveloped soon there will be a massive improvement to the local environment.
