Work is due to start on 5 May on improving safety at the Perne Road/Radegund Road roundabout, where there have been some unpleasant accidents to cyclists in recent years.

The new layout aims to reduce traffic speeds and improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians by:

  • reducing the width of the roundabout
  • tightening the exits and entries into the roundabout
  • providing wide, direct crossing areas on the Birdwood Road and Radegund Road arms of the roundabout. There will also be a central "overrun area" for larger vehicles.

The work is expected to be completed by September 2014.

Further information and updates on the works will be published on the project's web page.

If you have any questions about the works, please contact your councillor or Cambridgeshire County Council on transport.delivery@cambridgeshire.gov.uk or 01223 699906.
