Hazards for Cyclists and Pedestrians at Marque Corner

 The Marque cycle lane

Cyclists at the Cherry Hinton Road and Hills Road junction are in great danger if they follow the cycle route to turn right marked on the road.

Following a safety inspection instigated by Noel Kavanagh, County Council officers and the Marque contractors agreed the road layout needs to be altered to make it safer and less confusing for cyclists wishing to turn right at the junction.

Noel also emphasised contractors must ensure a manhole cover in the advance box section of the junction should be raised as it is too deep and a hazard for cyclists and pedestrians.
