20mph have your say

All Coleridge households are being asked for their views on reducing the speed limit for Coleridge residential roads to 20mph – YES or NO?

The change will not suddenly switch traffic to 20 mph but we believe average speeds will be cut and support this change, subject to it being decided by your overall vote.  We have supported past efforts by local residents to cut speeds on roads like Birdwood Road and Coleridge Road, and still want additional road safety measures trialled like speed activated signs.

We also think the County Council should have been asked to contribute financially by the City, as in Oxford, and want better enforcement measure than currently proposed.

The overall majority in the four East wards will decide whether 20 MPH is introduced or not, YES or NO, so make sure you vote and have your say also whether Cherry Hinton Road switches to 20mph.  Perne Road and Hills Road will stay at a 30mph limit as they are major highway routes.
